Wondering

I'm wondering if something is going on behind the scenes............Is VRO in the process of being bought?

Higher than usual volume - and upward price movements met with selling pressure on very positive market days, and very strong upward movement in the price of oil!    Maybe I'm just seeing things, but what I'm seeing is the trading patern often seen when a deal is being negotiated behind the scenes!

Food for thought!

Agree, price seem to be kept down in purpose, NG and oil prices are quite higher today and TSX 250 points up. VRO jumped to $1.70 just to drop back to $1.60 on almost twice the Av. volume. D Bartole did not indicated VRO was in any negotiations on his recent Mid June presentation and I wonder were does he sees an upside potential of $11.00 for this stock? He probably means 11 years from now ...more

Not sure I buy into the idea that poor share price action is the result of someone driving down the price ahead of a takeover. However I will add one point that is curious and makes me wonder...Normally their AGM is held in May. It was scheduled this year for July. July was cancelled and rescheduled for August. No proxy materials have been issued as of July 3 for the rescheduled ...more

You can also add in the part about the CEO and Investor Relations guy both flying to Europe about 2 weeks ago, to apparently speak to "Shareholders"!   I was unable to attend the last Presentation, did the CEO give the oral presentation, or was it taped from earlier - I remember wondering if he was there in person, or was already in Europe at that time.   It makes one wonder!

Today's trading made me wonder some more.   At about 1 or 2 minuites prior to the end of trading, a single block of 10,000 shares was entered for sale at 1.80.   That is called a blocking strategy - it had the effect of preventing the share price from taking a sudden jump in the last few seconds, and effectively capped todays advance.........causing the ending bid/ask to sit at ...more

JJB, as much as I would like to hope there is something going on behind the scenes, I have doubts. Certainly a tiny $18,000 limit order cant be considered a "blocking strategy". My feeling is that this stock has been so beaten up in the past couple of months, today was just a bounce, similar to what we saw in other similar stocks. Maybe J. Schacter will have some positive ...more

Another high volume day...........over 326,000 shares traded in the first 2 1/2 hours..........already 50% more than the daily average.   I guess you must be right................nothing is going on behind the scenes...................RIGHT!      Watch and learn.

28 days until the next scheduled AGM. isnt it getting a little late to be sending out the proxy/info circulars, especially in light of previous meeting delays?

Just two simple questions to D Bartole: 1.- In what time frame does he sees the $11.00 upside potential on this stock? 2.- What is needed to catapult the sp back to the $5.00 level? Really should not be to difficult to answer when you are an insiders in the industry and you have access to the information. Thanks

Of course, the answer to  those questions are much dependent on the future direction of commodity prices, however, it certainly would be worthwhile to ask Bartole his opinion, in regards to question #1 since he made it a highlight page on their sales Presention. It would be nice if they would conference call their Quarterly's and take Q&A's ...more
