Last month, Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who together lead the Senate Special Committee on Aging, announced plans for a December hearing as part of a Senate probe into drug pricing. At that time, they asked for information on pricing from four drug companies, including Valeant. Valeant said it submitted documents to the senators. Pearson also offered to testify, but he wasnt called on, in part because the senators realize high drug prices are an industry-wide problem, sources said.
