If you read the ppl news release it states
1-- 9.7 billion dollar transaction
2-- maximum of 99.5 million ppl shares will be issued
3--maximum of 1.523 billion cash will be paid
4--assuming full proration which i expect it to be
you will recieve $4.8494 cash and .3172 ppl shares.
Based on today price of $42.62  you would recieve
13.519 value of ppl shares plus 4.8494 cash for each ppl share you own
total return would be $18.368.
As well to get this months dividend you had to have purchased on the 27
as the ex div date was the 28
