Whitecap Resources Inc. is an oil-weighted growth company. The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. Its core areas include the West Division and East Division. Its West Division is comprised of three regions: Smoky, Kaybob and Peace River Arch (PRA). The properties in its Smoky region include Kakwa and Resthaven, all located in Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Montney resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. Kaybob is located in the Fox Creek region of Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Duvernay resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. The PRA is its original asset area. RE:expected dividend increaseTheir Feb presentation shows $1.1B of free funds flow at $80 oil which is their new base case (it was $70 in the Kan presentation).  They're planning to put 50% of that $1.1B to dividends and buybacks.   Slide 8 shows $416M of leftover funds (after buybacks) they could use to increase the dividend.

Slide 9 shows the existing dividend only costs $170M so they could double the dividend and still have $75M leftover.   I don't think they'll do that but a 30-40% dividend increase or a $1/share special dividend are definite possibilities.
