RE:Interesting critique of Bill C45He raises some good points, but I'm not sure why you are posting this here. What I mean is, how does any of this impact any of the lps? Cause from an investment standpoint, that's all I care about.
Do I think the government cluster fu@ks many a thing? Darn tootin. But part of what made this investment attractive was not only the end of prohibition of an illicit substance (a literal once in a lifetime investment opportunity) and the US dragging their heels, but historically how Canada has handled alcohol, tobacco, gambling etc. We all knew there was going to be huge control over this. So as the old saying goes, if you can't beat em, join em which means invest in this case.
Are people who have been passionate about weed cultivation for years and running dispensaries extremely pissed off that they are going to be excluded? Yes, and do I feel bad for them, and in many ways think it's unfair. Do I feel bad for people recently charged or soon to be charged? Yes and I think it's unfair as well and I do hope they implement some pardon process.
But thinking selfishly from an investment standpoint, I want to see the dispensaries and every illegal grow-op obiterated. Bye bye. I know that may sound like an a@@hole comment, but again, thinking selfishly exclusively from an investment standpoint. I want whatever course is best for my investments. I hope the lps can retain some type of direct control over point of sale online, but I had doubts on that, again given how this country operates historically.
To really put on my a@@hole hat, I even want them to even get rid of the right to grow completely, or only have it for medical patients would be a reasonable compromise.
