RE:RE:this applies to Canopy too!Yep, you are! They also had a guy named Brian Mulroney, former Prime Minister of Canada was slopping at the trough. Fairly heavily as I recall. At least Boehner did a little promo nr which was a complete about face on marijuana. Once he had all of those free shares/warrants, he might as well have promoted it. It only makes sense.
I think Boehner is still sloppin', not sure about Mulroney. All polititcians connected to this slopped pretty heavy at the trough and too much was paid for a whole lot of acquisitions but they put together a MSO with some clout. It was good enough that Canopy wants it.
|I keep bringing everybody back to the deal (arrangement) that is supposed to happen when pot is decriminalized in the US and I have noticed that others are now doing the same kind of deals, to happen in the future when being charged as a criminal is off the table.
Canopy could revisit the deal for a third time but would probably put themselves in the crosshairs if they screwed Acreage shareholders a second time. Or they could just walk from it. Or they could buy it at the market.
The only thing I know for sure is that Canopy needs an Acreage or something similar to dominate in the US when we legally can.
I am one of the first in and got burned badly and this whole deal is proactive which is what world leading management like Constellation do. They imagine the future and move towards it.
Good thing I financed the Acreage from Canopy shares, but I believed so hard in Acreage that I never saw the constant downticking coming as the whole greenrush and most of the players got riddled with downticks.
Most of the US MSOs are still in great shape but off their highs. Canada's LPs got nailed a little harder and have the most upside for the taking, if it all works out. Canada's law and policy people really threw a screwwing into Canadian pot stocks which are finally getting a chance.
Here we are at harvest time again for all of those acres and acres of great field grown pot which is quickly just becoming a commodity. Value added, extraction and alternate options to smoking, like beverages are gaining traction bit time!
Still got to lobby law and policy makers to level the playing field with Big Alcohol to really get beverages going but they will be high turnover and give a good margin, especially in the bar scene.
