RE:Thursday earnings report

RE:Thursday earnings reportI see earnings beating the guesses put out,  this 1/4 historcally has been the best for CGC.  Storz and Bickle normally have the best showing of the year based on xmas sales.

The stores being sold off will be on the next ER as that was completted in Jan after the 1/4 ended that they are about to report.

I would like to hear some sort of update on the call for the US listing status they have had time to talk with them by now and should have an idea if they can go ahead soon or not.

Canada is flooded with retailers, all of whom need skus and Canopy has some quality skus that will set on the shelves of lots of them without the expense of operating our own bricks and mortar.

This was the easiest way to fix the balance sheet, to cut the losing operations out and put the resources in to promoting value added manufacturing and great skus.

I'm sure that WEED has been mothballing skus that aren't selling.

Klein's announcing that we are headed to the States is a vote of confidence that we expect the change we need to decriminalize pot at the Federal level or that we are going to rely on the State protection law that allows the States who are legal to administer their own justice.

On that point, I am not aware that they have taken any action against any US potpreneurs that are relying on State Law protection, at least, since they announced it.

A lot of investors haven't grasped the inroads that Constellation has made, picking up US companies of interest to building on their new listing that encompasses Canopy, Acreage Holdings and half a dozen other US based companies that are successful enough in the US for Constellation/Canopy to plunk down investments in those companies or their brands.

I don't know how they are going to fit together under one symbol but Canopy imo, is still the leading potpreneur as a Canadian licensed producer with eyes on being a US MSO and International force.

Don't get too excited for those junior potpreneurs because the big guys, LPs and MSOs are going to be able to survive the attrition that is coming for the underfinanced, marginal pot hopefuls.

The biggies have already dug in and built formidable companies while the juniors are filled with failed mining companies and teck, IP advisors who jumped into pot when it was smoking hot but did so because they were on the ropes with their initial goals.

This is more than being able to grow a couple of plants that you can bag up and sell on the black market.

I fully expect 95% are going to bite the dust and the big and mighty, serious potpreneurs that are thinking International will be standing in the winner's circle.

Temper expectations over the earnings report due this week.  Most pot companies are quiet, waiting for direction from lawmakers such that they can go full bore.  Federally legal, descheduled or better will separate the buckwheat from the bullshyt and the survivors will be able to make money.  Some form of law enforcement to eliminate the black market or force them legal will be good for the survivors.

I strongly believe that the high stakes that the Cartels and gangs play has the politiicians charged with legalization is a huge concern for those involved, which explains a lot about the continual delays to a decriminalization effort for those that are willing to build legal companies.

Value added skus that go far beyond bags of weed and other smokeable style skus probably isn't of interest to the illegal side, nor potpreneurs that will spend the money and effort to earn pharma grade classification for which the US has just recently changed the rules to facilitate those that see pharma values and want to prove them.

My guess is that earnings will be down but so will financial losses as Canopy has passed those losses on to the purchaser of the storefronts.

Value added brands and manufacturing are moneymakers in the minimally restrictive markets which is why Canopy has eyes for the US where the MSOs are having success.  Canopy is a formidable leader to be reckoned with in the US marketplace.
