RE:Vancouver Port StikeAll this speculation about the Vancouver port strike IMHO is way off course. WEF has their lumber mills on Vancouver Island and ships their product overseas directly from ports on the Island. This of course is much more economical than first barging over to Vancouver and then loading ships there.
What WEF does have to barge out is all their North American sales, but these would be loaded onto rail at Vancouver, thus again no impact from the strike.
Bottem line is that the impact of the strike should be minimal on WEF. In fact it may actually be of considerable benefit in that WEF will be able to keep shipping product overseas while the BC Interior producers will be shut out temporarily from the Asian markets. This then could result in some new, long term Asian customers for WEF.
