RE:MorningStar
Morningstar have it right. The forest industry on the coast is complex. Old mills, tired old strategies recycled to present an aura of action, crown tenure that benefits from a government not charging for the true value of the public's timber, signing another unsustainable labour contract and effectively kicking the can down the road in the name of wanting to benefit from a short term favourable market blip (old, old story on repeat), and no tangible assets other than the land on which those old mills reside. The fact they have successfully sought to export public timber for a hefty fee should raise eyebrows in many corners.
Morningstar understands the fickle nature of this industry and some of the short term actions being taken and why they are being taken. Morningstar generally provides a very balanced assessment.
