however it is a negative because of downward pressure coming from funds that need to sell in order to rebalance portfolios.

I'm not sure you understood the initial post. The S&P/TSX Comp Index depends on the market cap of companies, nothing else. It's not like WELL is getting delisted.
Eventually, as WELL meets its financial guidance, the share price will move back up (and so will the market cap) and it will be added back to the S&P¨/TSX Comp Index.
