?? Special Dividend ??

RFP $1 = $79 million...... IFP $1 = $65 million...... WFG increase by 5 cents = $6 million. Any shareholders disappointed and rethinking where their investment dollars should be?

Correction....IFP $2 not $1...so $ 130,000,000

Hi Dad, It's technically 20 cents = 24m over the next 12 months.  I know it's not what you want but I do think buying back shares is the best use of cash at the moment. The amount of shares outstanding almost doubled with the norbord merger to ~123M and now sit around ~118M with a lot of loose shares in paper hands. If management can end 2021 closer to 100M (not crazy considering ...more

Lol...you are assuming WFG maintains the increase. What if those other companies do another special dividend during Q3 which they most likely will to get rid if some cash. I know you and others love this share buy back activity, but not me. I agree to do some buybacks over time but these guys are selfishly over-spending on that front, IMO. I say pay the common man and put cash in is hand. I love ...more

Lol, yah what a ridiculous divy by West Fras, i bought more IFP before the pop :). I can buy and sell that one easier than Wfg.  Management is up to something, i think WFG will be the biggest winner when the smoke settles , 1-2 years from now.  Definitely the most frustrating stock im my portfolio, when goes it goes, leaps and bounds one could say. LPX has been getting punished lately ...more

Congrats on your IFP timing. Wish l was in at the right price a clipped that $2 div. I agree that WFG is quite frustrating. It is really sensitive to lumber futures for sure. What l find fascinating or more disappointing is that WFG is now the biggest OSB producer in the world by acquiring Norbord and no one seems to care. The amount of cash the OSB segment with add in Q2 is pretty crazy but the ...more

In the long term it is always better to go with the best company.  A year or so from now just sell off a few shares at higher prices from here and consider that your divi.  The best part of WFG is the ownership of Norbord.  Is the price falling on OSB yet?  Disclosure also own a little Interfor

These peak OSB prices are basically flat or VERY slightly down but lm sure cash sales would be zero. OSB order files are easier to control than lumber and would have been longer than lumber as well. So OSB prices will hold up and take longer to correct which could take months. Any excess unsold OSB production can easily disappear into big box and other warehouses for such things as hurricane ...more

WFG bought back another 350k shares this week. Strangely only 50k from TSX and that was only on Monday. They boguht 300k+ from US listing. The share buyback increase started Friday June 11 so it will be interesting to see what they do with it next week.

Dad agreed, fires and hurricanes... pretty much the new normal the last 5 years.  Feel for people who deal with that but they definitely have warmer weather year round...every thing has a price or risk in life.
