Global X Funds, the New York based provider of exchange tradedfunds (ETFs), today launched the Global X S&P/TSX Venture 30Canada ETF (Ticker: TSXV). This is the first ETF globally targetingcompanies on Canada's junior exchange, the TSX Venture, foremerging companies.
TSXV provides investors with a wide range of commodity exposure viaexploration and junior mining companies listed on the TSX VentureExchange. The fund also may benefit from continued demand forcommodities from fast-growing emerging market countries combinedwith the quantitative easing policy in the US. These particularcompanies have low production costs, making them prime acquisitiontargets for larger companies that are suffering from depletingcommodity reserves (NASDAQ 2010).
