Why invest in WPX? those who know anything about developing a potash mine should be asking the question why would you invest in WPX? Will WPX ever be able to raise $2 billion to build a mine?
Don't even think about a take out. The last take out for a Saskatchewan junior potash has already occurred (Potash One). With all the new capacity scheduled to come on line in Saskatchewan in coming years, no investor in their right mind would buy any potash property in Saskatchewan.
Future:
There is new capacity coming online from Argentina, Brazil, Russia, etc in coming years so why would anyone go for the highest cost CAPEX in the world that Saskatchewan has?
Ethiopia will have the lowest CAPEX and OPEX in the world and that is the only place you will see juniors get taken out in the future. BHP will send a message to Saskatchewan for denying them that opportunity to buy Potash Corp. They will destroy Canpotex by producing millions of tonnes from Ethiopia when they buy out Allana and Ethiopian Potash.
By the way, Vale just entered Ethiopia last week, they will be looking to buy Potash in Ethiopia so Saskatchewan for juniors is dead. Unless the world needs 200 million tonnes per yea production, Saskatchewan for juniors is dead.
