RE:RE:RE:RE:3 month window Sooner, RIO is nothing but a foil for NEM as I see it right now. It's all about cultivating the competitive tensions in the background. I could care less whether RIO pulls the trigger first or if NEM or some other unknown suitor does.
I'm concerned with getting all the ducks lined up in a row, having the proper market environment for commodities and a new all-time high share price certainly won't hurt. That will take time and allowing the stars to align naturally. Too many are trying to force it.
Dad, are we there yet? Five minutes later, "Dad are we there yet?". Five minutes later.......
If one doesn't have patience, WRN isn't the best fit for your portfolio. We have optionality in spades with gold. We aren't dependent upon others, they will come to us when the timing is right.
The primary what-if at this point is do we push through with the permitting or do we let the potential acquirer do that? That's a tough call as a fully permitted project obviously is more attractive, however, as has been metioned the acquirer would likely prefer to do it their way with their specs.
This is the big question for 2023: to permit or to stand pat. This is where Paul earns his scratch, he has to make those big calls given all the info avaiable to him.
PS for those who don't think we won't breach $7 USD in a buyout (breaking the $1 billion threshold) why are you investing in junior resource stocks? From today's $1.65 USD share price, bumping up to $7 is not even a 4 bagger. WRN is one of the best juniors around to invest in. If you think one of the best is not even worth of a 4 bagger, again, why are you investing in juniors?!
I'm all in on juniors, if a buyout happens, I usually sell the majors and redeploy back into the juniors. But, don't take my word for it, do your own research and you'll come to the same conclusion that juniors are the best to invest in when a gold bull market has really heated up.
