Too many apologists

And appeasers on this board. Christ is beckons chamberlain and his cronies.  Smarten up and get critical.  This should have been done moons ago.  Paul knows that. He's milking this thing for all it's worth.  Once a deals done his salary is gone.  As are the options. No more gravy train fellas.  Think about it.

c'mon DB --- be reasonable here. When it comes time to be critical....I am....like missing deadlines...lack fo communication...etc.  However, even you can acknowledge (I would think) how stock options work. I will tell you one thing, when I excercised stock options in my experience....and from I've been told...it is STANDARD practice to excercise at a time when the holder believes ...more

As Clarke's dad says wrongo sooner .  He should have exercised his options and not sold.  Therefore this great stock of ours would have made even more money.  That's if you believe. Just smells all around. Period. Top inseiders must don't do this.

LOL. And while I'm withholding judgement on Friday's sale for now, I agree we can and should be doing more as shareholders. IMO, permitting this solo is likelier to make us a stranded asset than spark a bidding war. We're taking on all the risk here. Management uses newly issued shares, institutions use their clients money, Rio's investment is a rounding error to them. It's ...more

Maybe you do, but I don't have $360K sitting around to buy the 300K shares.  I don't blame Paul selling them to buy the expiring options.  I'd do exactly the same.

Ok --- which of you on this board have ever excercised options with a publicly traded company? What % of options ever excerised throughout time  invovled the optoin holder coming up with the cash to actually purchase the shares outright at the optoin price???  go to the bank and get a loan to purchase the shares...that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard of. Once again ...more

Sooner just stop. Yes I have exercised options. Many times.  I also bought wrn shares in two raises. Your position is nonsense. At this level you HAVE the money to buy the shares. If you believe. If you don't you take the spread or sell them if the terms allow for same. This stinks to high heaven. Trust me.

As usual ----it seems like you and many others on this board expect Paul to have 100% of his net worth in WRN. Is that what you expect?  I mean what if he wanted to use that cash to pay off his mortgage? Or perhaps he has other needs for the cash. What is his stock ownership after the transaction vs before. Perhaps he used a portion to plow back into WRN but another portion for other ...more

Sooner it wouldn't be all his holdings.  His average cost per share is much less than ours.  Please stop the appeasement. In any event he helped drive the price down. We all agree on that. Makes getting a higher buyout harder. Can we agree he failed as a leader in that respect?
Comment by Sooner on Feb 21, 2023 5:59am
None of us know how this story ends yet.... you have your opinion on that already set...I do not. I repeat...i personally admire Paul for exercising options on expiry date and not before. Can you at least give the guy props for that???? I mean in reality...he could have gotten an extra what....$350,000 if he exercised those options 18 months ago. That...I agree...would have been a sign of a very ...more
