RE:Rio Share PurchaseWhile this should be the first real gauge of Rio's long term interest here, I'll strongly suggest we don't read into anything Rio does or doesn't do. And I'm saying this as someone who's done the exact opposite since they came on.
Think about it this way: Realistically, only BHP can outbid Rio, and Paul's said in years past BHP's feedback is that Casino isn't big enough for them to justify an investment. They're more interested in an asset like Filo, who is hitting mile-long intercepts. MMC isn't interested in full-ownership, and I see their bringing the Japanese consortium as purely theoretical.
Personally, I'm assuming Rio doesn't do anything, and they'll be whatever diluted pecentage, though still the largest individual shareholder. For everyone's peace of mind, I suggest considering the above.
