Patriot One Technologies Could Have Prevented Las Vegas Massacre:

It is perhaps a poignant coincidence that Patriot One Technologies (CVE:PAT)(OTCMKTS:PTOTF)’ PATSCAN threat detection system was announced on the same day that over 50 people were shot to death and 400 wounded in a Las Vegas mass shooting. Officially the most deadly mass shooting in U.S. history, there is every probability that the PATSCAN system may have alerted security officials at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort that there was a weapon in the hotel.

The system was not installed, because it had not yet received Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval for deployment in public areas. Since it emits a radio signal, it has to be permitted by the FCC before it can be installed anywhere where the public may come into contact with the signal, or where the signal emitted might interfere with other FCC regulated communications.

Major Catalyst Achieved

Patriot One announced on Monday October 3 that it has been approved by both the FCC and Industry Canada to operate the devices anywhere the public may be present, which means the widespread installation of the system can now begin.

Prior announcements from Patriot One indicate that the company has received numerous preliminary orders for the devices.

“This is a momentous occasion for us,” states Patriot One Technologies CTO Dinesh Kandanchatha. “We now hold both FCC and Industry Canada (IC) certification allowing us to move into commercial roll-out across North America, with other countries soon to follow.

There is little doubt that the sheer number of weapons 64-year-old Stephen Paddock brought into the hotel would certainly have raised alarms had they been detected. This is precisely the kind of attack PATSCAN is designed to thwart.

The reality is that, now that PATSCAN is certified for use by the FCC, demand for the product will be at its highest potential. It is even conceivable that, should the technology actually result in the arrest prior to the launch of such an attack, of a suspect bringing large quantities of weapons and ammunition into a crowded public forum like the Las Vegas strip, that availability of the units will be in a state of shortage until Patriot One’s manufacturing and logistics systems can be fully developed.

Former Homeland Security Chief Agrees

“This is an important milestone for the Patriot One team for which they should be proud,” said Governor Tom Ridge, first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and a member of the Patriot One Advisory Board. “I very much look forward to seeing the rollout of this game-changing technology across the United States and to supporting their efforts to improve public safety.”
