FeastCoast…Who do you think you are talking to...I work with the largest resellers in technology...ALL OF THEM!!!!!! What in the world are you talking about????? That's how many technology deals are done. Many technology companies don't want to negotiate every single Purchase order or Order Addendum so they sell in bulk to resellers who in return sell directly to the customer. It shortens the sales cycle in some cases as the resellers usually have existing relationships with the customers due to the procurement of other product or services..meaning an already executed Master Agreement is in place. Some of the biggest names in technology and Security will not sell directly to customers and exclusively sell through resellers. This has nothing to do with the product..it's the sales model they chose...When goods or services are purchased from a reseller as opposed to directly from the OEM...The customer doesnt look at the product as a reseller's product...that's asinine...they still perform due diligence on the OEM and the relationship is with the OEM...they receive QBRs directly from the OEM, and monitoring of performance of the product and/or service including SLAs, KPIs, and KRIs are all measured at the OEM level not the Reseller level who is a mere pass through. Please educate yourself..you're in a world you know nothing about. Using a reseller doesn't diminish the OEM instead it usually demonstrates that there is a large customer need for the product or service otherwise the reseller wouldn't be purchasing in bulk. You are tooooo funny.
