Nightstocker - Correct, and well said on Johnson Controls
This solution isn't anything to do with Patriot or Evolv, its to do with Phone app based proximity sensing combined with other solutions that are reactive to the phone sensing other phones in the area.
As for the the thing that is bugging you on Evolv not shouting anything from the rooftops, when its newsworthy they do. HOWEVER , they do not have retail shareholders to satisfy with newsblasts.
Johnson Controls pursued Evolv and they also created the news release. The sales and screening data for Evolv speaks for itsef and the founders also sold their last company Revele Imaging for $500 Million. So there are no shortage of investors lining up to get a piece of what they are doing.
As for PAT and Johnson Controls .... Well the results are clear. The Evolv thing killed their BS, and the guy who apparently made the statement in the PAT press release isnt with Johnson controls anymore and he is now working for a company that is doing what VRS does. Which tells you exactly how impressed he was when the demo took place.
Pat would announce the opening of an envelope if they could get away with it. But ask them about explaining their BS and they are as illusive as rocking horse schitt.
