Tsa

The million dollar question is why the TSA would want to spend time and money testing XTRA?
Comment by Golden100 on Jun 29, 2023 3:10pm
I got the impression that someone (maybe a large company or government agency interested in purchasing Xtract) was looking for verification and asked TSA to approach Xtract. Just a guess. Whoever it was Thank You.

@Rick311: Inquiry minds want to know. Either Peter has painted only a small part of the picture or the TSA has gotten wind  of xtract One capabilities and wanted to see for themselves. Maybe there is a "wow" NR  coming in the near future of Smart gateway being mandated throughout all airports. Its OK to dream big.

We gotta dream big for sure. My dream is on (central) government buildings and NYC subway. Both would give us massive esposure on public.

No he killed the airport idea.. and according to the people on this board it was a good idea to to close the door on even the mere speculation of airports.. because you know, who really needs speculative value anyway..  smh. Shmucks...

yawn.... so Peter's open answer to a question is now killing the idea in your small mind? What's the name of the book your wrote please so we can all learn more about your clearly superior intellect! g

What a knucklehead if you think he killed the airport idea. What he said was that they weren't going to actively pursue ap's and consume resources in a 5+ year exercise. But if ap's are the pursuer and come to XTRACT to provide a solution, it totally changes the dynamic and accelerates the timeline. Go back to your textbook and learn about 'market pull'. The TSA requested that ...more

...but don't beat yourself up too much on your conclusion. IMO the market will also remain non-committal until they see contracts roll in from TSA's validation. Nobody knows how long customers might take to conclude such contracts, that timing is totally out of XTRACT's control, but be confident that it will happen, and when they start to roll in, it could 'snowball' at least ...more

P.S. wouldn't it be great to be a 'fly on the wall' inside Evolve headquarters right now? Fun times ahead

Plisky, let me explain to you some very simple points.   -Airports, as it turns out, ALREADY HAVE a pretty decent means of detecting weapons / contraband.  If you've ever been to an airport you might agree.  Why should XTRA waste time and effort trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist?  That one is pretty obvious to those of us paying attention.  I accidentally ...more

Nice rant! I agree.
Comment by pliskenNYC on Jul 04, 2023 1:03pm
@vermic1 yeah pretty long rant..  Only problem is Peter never mentioned xtract technology not being up to par as a reason to not have it in airports... and if that were the case.. why would the TSA approve xtract in the first place.. you think they have a partial approval program that qualified xtract for somethings TSA covers and not others?... and if so where is that documented?? I mean ...more

Have you been to an airport?  Its ok if you haven’t.  They don't just scan (xray mostly) for weapons.  They do it to check for lots of different stuff like liquids above a certain volume.  Would XTRA work on that?  What about ceramic knives?  How about prohibited items like certain imported food items?  Illegal endangered animal products?  Drugs ...more

I was going to make this exact same point, but you beat me to it. It would make a lot of sense to have Xtract at the entrances. Not everyone goes through airport xrays.

I doubt it but belive some sort of contract could be attached to it and thats why they did the bake-off. Maybe a tsa building like the (TSA head quarters?) similar to the OIG contract.
