Hedging Gold

A question, isn't YNG losing money for every $ that gold goes over $1700 on that forward sale?

Maybe the final deal is not in stone. Maybe there is some movement on the $1700 number given world events. The NR talked of intention to enter the deal. Maybe they can get a margin above the current gold price before the final ink.That would be reasonable imo.$2000 would be better. But I suppose DB wants reward for putting 100+ million dollars into the operation. DB is a careful group and 120 ...more

Maybe they can negotiate a better deal for themselves, but I doubt it.  YNG should have done this type of deal a long time ago IMO. I own another gold miner that did the same type of gold lease deal with DB last Summer and they got a deal between $850 and $1290 per oz. , but they only borrowed $45 million and have to pay out only around 66K oz.This is still something YNG needs to do IMO to ...more
