RE:Shorting is expensive at the moment

RE:Shorting is expensive at the momentYou're braver than I am if you are considering going short!  Too much market manipulation happening with marketmakers, brokers and bankers exercising enough clout that they are controlling the market and it looks like they are willing to destroy another company of potential for short term gains.

To me, the big money is just complicating the investment vehicles to stack the deck for their own benefit.

It is my opinion that shortselling is wrong and it is sucking everybody in that don't realize that they can lose a lot more than they gambled.  That knife cuts hard for the outsiders who dare to play when they are not in the loop.

Tilray is also a Canadian born company and Tilray and the other Canadian LPs are subject to protectionism by US influencers/investors who would just as soon keep them out of the US arena.

The US is not legalizing pot like they did in Canada, with some Federal laws that actually are good because they simplify and help LPs to grow marketshare while the US still has legal States and non-legal players that play higher stakes than any US politician charged with writing some Federal level rules that would be considered helpful to their MSOs along the lines of adult rec legalization.

Tilray in Canada is flirting with being the number one potpreneur but seem to be taking a page from Constellation Brands as a beverage distributor to move in to alcohol and even beer which is expected to decline in favour of thc infused beverages but the law and policy makers are dragging anchor to allow this to happen.

Tilray is moving forward establishing bottling capability that could be switched rapidly to thc infused beverages in the US but until somebody fixes the rulebook for thc new vice beverages will continue to sell alcohol.

Tilray is an International entity doing business in over 20 Countries and if the US keeps dragging this out, the greenrush might happen in Germany or Australia or somewhere else.

All potpreneurs are having some bad days and I am convinced that there are too many players and too much supply of raw product that is losing favour as smokeables in favour of edibles and drinkables which would also explain Constellation, Tilray and Canopy's actions to move forward with these skus.

Beverage expectations by potpreneurs is favourable but won't flourish until some laws are changed and they also need to allow thc beverages to be served in alcohol venues to get to full stride.

At this point in time I am convinced that the Cartels and underground are carrying more weight than the government who seem fearful to move this forward like it needs to be done.

If the US doesn't take control the black market players will continue to gain strength until we are like Mexico where the Cartels are running things and all of the death and pain that they bring.

If they legalize cross border supply of pot and hemp and hire the Mexicans to produce cheap, ok quality pot for the US, that can pass inspection and safety standards that should help eliminate a major portion of the underground market to legitimacy.

US value added players can make edibles and beverages and the law can chase the meth and fentanyl players who are really doing the bulk of the damage to US citizens.

Also pharma quality skus for the use by patients seeking alternate treatment to what is already available.
