RE:Irwin (Simple) Simon isn’t buying a Don't forget that the next in line Canadian LP to Tilray, Canopy Growth has done a lot of groundwork and inked a deal with Acreage Holdings for doing business as a US MSO.

The US marketplace is viable while the Canadian marketplace has been a dud, mostly because Canada launched and strangled  the pot biz with a whole bunch of ways out for government to restrain freemarket flow by restrictive posession limits, plain wrapper packaging and no advertising.

They have just started to get it right in Canada but the restrictive nature initially has the main LPs looking south.

Granted Canopy is intentions right now but they say they aren't waiting for the US pot laws to line up but insist that they will just set up shop where the pro-pot States players have had success.

The largest shareholder of Canopy is Constellation Brands, a major US alcohol player which grays up the Canadian identity such that it is more than likely mostly owned by Americans.

Constellation are piling in to like-minded brands and businesses that they intend to vend in to the holding company Canopy USA.LLC.

The business environment is too restrictive in the US as far as getting full value from infused cannabinoid beverages which is why TLRY is chasing revenue producers which is still breweries and light alcohol until such time as thc and cbd get a level playing field with beverage alcohol.

Big Alcohol has recognized that consumers are looking for less calories and sugar and that solution is cannbinoid infused.

Some misguided and protectionist law and policy makers have exercised laws that are preventing alcohol and thc to be served and sold in the same venues, to save us from ourselves from overimbibing by consuming 2 mind alterants at the same time.  I believe these concerns were launched before thc was elevated to rapid onset and offset for edibles and drinkables.

Reducing sugar and alcohol in beverages is just a matter of removing alcohol and a logical solution is to infuse them with thc for an adult style drink that will also appeal to health conscious consumers and consumers trying to lighten up on alcohol consumption.

Progress is going to be marginal until law and policy makers step up to what the pot lobbyists are telling they need as a new fledgling industry.

The US has an opportunity to do some amazing political work to fix all that is wrong with pot legalization by taking the best of all the pot bills presented but never signed off on and not making the same mistakes that Canada made.

LPs and MSOs need to step up and play the game to win.  If that means greasing some palms to move this forward, then so be it.

It's the way of the world!
