LPs vs MSOs

LPs vs MSOsMy understanding is that the US has not legalized pot at the Federal level which is why they won't allow non US investment by potpreneurs.

Internally, there are segways because of State rules that are permissive for pot cos to be established legally but this creates the problem of free trade between individual pro pot States because crossing State lines with this type of product is against the law, although there has been movement on State to State commerce by new State agreements for this to happen,

The State by State legalization is ultimately going to move towards Federal commerce but in an inefficient manner because they all have rules that vary.

Rescheduling will not end the confusion but will be a positive to move towards Federal legalization.

Too many bad laws are on the books as potpreneurs in the US and non US pot hopefuls are reluctant to draw fire from the Feds who still have huge penalties on the books for lawbreakers.

One new Federal decriminalization law for potpreneurs such that it gets everybody on the same page and same set of rules just makes too much sense for US politicians charged with getting this done by popular vote.

Every other US business has Interstate commerce for their skus whether it be alcohol or widgets.

Canadian LPs have their eyes on the US market and are taking advantage of options or deals to establish themselves in the US without drawing fire from the Feds or protectionist faction.

Tilray seems to be emulating the businessplan of Constellation who are the largest shareholder of Canopy to own and control beer companies and alcohol companies which are still lucrative and generate revenue with the option of being able to quick switch to cannabinoid production of beverage skus if laws are passed in the US, at the Federal level, that will allow foreign companies to establish as fair competition for the US marketplace.

The Canadian market for potpreneurs is saturated both with supply of cannabis and potpreneurs, all of whom are in a race with their account balances to show profit before they succumb to bankruptcy and loss of support by investors and lenders.

MSOs are in the same boat with the exception that there is enough market that MSOs are showing profits or profit potential.

Canopy, which is owned and controlled by Constellation is being rightsized down to bare bones to get rid of all the waste and hang on to the valuable brands, recipes to vend in to a US holding company along with Acreage Holdings shares which are a US MSO that will hugely benefit from the success of winning and tested recipes and brands being introduced to the US more viable marketplace.

Tilray is moving forward for the US with beer and soft alcohol companies while Constellation shook up the pot biz by wanting a piece of the cannabinoid business.

The delays in the US imho are that US lawmakers are fearful of repercussions from their black market which is controlled by nasty people and estimated to be over 50% of the marketplace.

It is much safer for those in the crosshairs to let this continue one State at at time.

They need to put out the welcome mat for the illegal trade to go legal and Federal legalization to eliminate the huge penalties that non US concerns are fearful of to allow free and fair commerce for this ever-increasing new vice to get established.

Lots of bad laws and guidelines on the books hindering where this is going to end up that need to be dealt with.

Decades of study and use on pot but hindered by laws in regards to studying the scientific benefits by the US that has only recently been corrected.

Tilray has their eyes on beverages and medical use and pharma use is a segway that is allowing International commerce to pro-pot countries and an area that is profitable and made companies like Charlotte's Web who did the work to get a din number (legal) and recognized as a legit medical use product.

Pharma and beverages and Tilray is there.  Canopy is too, although there is more work to do.

High profit margin and high turnover products for a world that will welcome alternatives to alcohol and legal pill factories.

If you can't beat 'em, at least join 'em!
