I don't think a better reason for them canceling is necessary other than the reason given. Todd contacted a deadly disease that has so far killed over 5 mil people. If Russell Peters wants to wait for Todd to be able to join him in Holland for his first experience with shrooms than I think that is up to him. But feel free to contact Russell and Todd and let them know your feelings on the matter.
