After much of Acadiana getting soaked with 3-8 inches of rainfall over the last 24 hours, similar totals will be possible again through Thursday afternoon.
Heavy rains and strong storms reformed across Southwest Louisiana this afternoon producing rainfall rates as high as 1 inch in 15 minutes and rain totals near 3-5 inches.
The mass of heavy precipitation will inch slowly overnight through Thursday likely producing 3-5 inches of rain in many areas with isolated totals up to 6-8 inches.
Grounds remain saturated across Acadiana so the Flood Watch continues for all of the area. Flood Warnings will likely continue in western sections of Acadiana through Wednesday evening and overnight and will likely continue eastward through Thursday.
Acadiana should get a break in the very wet pattern late Thursday into Friday, and perhaps Saturday, but high rain chances and the possibility of heavy rains may return to the area late in the weekend into early next week.
