Sodium Ion
battery has made a breakthrough, it is estimated based on this breakthrough the sodium ion will replace the lithium within two years thereby bringing the price of a high end electric car down to 20k and a full sodium battery replacement at around 2 grand ( verses 50 grand for a lithium replacement ). The coast to produce a sodium battery is estimated at 900 dollars to mass produce. Companies that use the lithium battery can not compeet against companies using the sodium batteries. Companies like Tesla will likely go out of business.

Canada has just became lithium battery capital but lithium has its faults where solid state could be next.
