Must have been a buyer from Vancouver Coastal, the heatlh authority, not VGH the hospital.  The buyer would seek deals for the 5 hospitals in that region that use scopes. I know one of those in Vancouver is still using an old Scientek, so that's a likely candidate, but I have heard that one other has already upgraded, so I wouldn't count on seeing any more than half a dozen sold.  There is no provincial buyer, and Vancouver General had 3 scope cleaners last time I was made aware (a few years back, admittedly) but if they needed replacement I haven't heard about it.

I have heard of instances of cooperation between buyers from the region next door, so another half dozen there could be possible but they're really pressed for funds.  So I would't count on the inventory vanishing 'just like that'.
