RE: competition...

RE: competition...My point in posting about IHI is to bring out the fact that there IS competition. No one here seemed to think that maybe someone else could be working on a similar machine. Would'nt Steris and other companies in the sterilization business be interested in coming up with an alternative to EO? As a sterilant, EO has many advantages. It is effective against all forms of microbes, easily passes through closely-woven material, will not corrode metal, is readily available and may be used on a wide variety of products. Although not ideal, Ethylene oxide sterilization is still considered the most efficient low-temperature sterilization process currently available. It is very unlikely that the use and availability of EO will be significantly curtailed in the near future. In the meantime, TOS is a good story and the're getting a lot of milage out of it. Just my opinion. Have a nice weekend.
