The nickel content in a Tesla Batterty is 80% The battery itself contains 7,104 lithium-ion battery cells. Here’s what’s in each cell: Cathode: The Tesla Model S battery cathode uses an NCA formulation with the approximate ratio: 80% nickel, 15% cobalt, and 5% aluminum. Small amounts of lithium are also used in the cathode.

That's 960 lbs of Nickel sulfide in a Tesla Battery. No wonder Elon Musk is encouraging miners to find more Nickel.

In fact the nickel/cobalt content of a li/ion battery is 80/15% respectively. The batteries should be called Ni/Co batteries... lol. I think this co will do very well in the near future as its minerals will be in very high demand. Let's keep a close watch on this one.
