TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - 02/14/11) - Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. (the "Company" or "Trelawney") (TSX-V:TRR - News)(Frankfurt:RTW - News) is pleased to announce positive results for the preliminary initial scoping level metallurgical testwork on its Cote Lake Deposit in northeastern Ontario. This testwork was completed by SGS Canada Inc. Mineral Services in Lakefield, Ontario.

Testwork was completed on two 40-kilogram composite samples of drill core from the Cote Lake Deposit. Composite sample 1 consisted of the copper-enhanced mineralization from the hydrothermal breccia and composite sample 2 consisted of the gold-only mineralization from the intrusive breccias.

Composite 1 (copper-enhanced) returned (gravity and cyanidation) recoveries ranging from 85.6 to 94.9% for various feed sizes, with 21.6 % of the gold in this sample captured by gravity circuit. A flotation test of this sample returned a 98.7% recovery for copper.

Composite 2 (gold-only) returned excellent overall recoveries ranging from 94.3 to 97.8%, by combined gravity and cyanidation, with 51.3% of the gold recovered by the gravity circuit.

Preliminary tables are attached below and final data will be available in several weeks. Further metallurgical and comminution testwork is ongoing and additional deposit samples will be submitted as the project moves toward preliminary economic studies.

Greg Gibson, Trelawney's President and CEO commented, "We are very satisfied with the results of this preliminary metallurgical work which indicate that excellent gold recoveries can be achieved by conventional processing methods. Recoveries of this magnitude in bulk tonnage gold deposits are very favourable for future project development."
