Namibia: New project in the diamond

Namibia is known as a diamond producing country. The Namdeb, company Namibian diamond mining, will develop new activities. The company aims to produce 45,000 carats of diamonds per year by the end of 2013. To get to the end, the Namdeb will invest 280 million Namibian dollars, or 36.3 million U.S. dollars. This money will install a new mine fields at the Namdeb mining in the south. This project will extend along the course of the Orange River. According to experts, the new mine will be operated for seven years. Namibia has the specialty to exploit the diamond on the river beds and sea In other words, it is offshore. This practice may be the future of the diamond sector in this country. Indeed, the onshore diamond mines are almost exhausted. Research streams is the only way to save this activity. According to Managing Director of Namdeb, a study says that 500 million carats of diamonds around the edges are the Orange River. They are larger and, in terms of value, four times larger. The Namdeb plans to push back the sea to make surveys on the coast.
