EPL 3403

So ML 47 in this picture is the one that is "producing in excess of 1.1 million carats per year". I've noticed that their property starts right at the Orange River and I found out that the currents move northward so their diamonds are obviously coming from the Orange River which goes through the heart of the diamond fields in Africa.

My question is will enough wash up into EPL 3403 to make an economic mine? They might be able to find a few big diamonds but will it be an economic mine?

Any thoughts or opinions?

pkpotential....What leads you to believe that the diamonds are drifting in from the river? Does anyone know how the diamonds are being extracted? I see there are 3 methods. If they are using horizontal dredging then it would be evident that the diamonds are drifting in. However, if they are using vertical mining it is indicative of a marine deposit embedded in the underwater rock. Perhaps both ...more

You don't believe that the fact that the Orange River is known for its diamonds, and the fact that ML 47 starts right on the very edge of where the river enters the ocean tells you that at least some of the diamonds are coming from the river?

I'm not refuting the fact that they are coming from the Orange River but wondering if they are also being mined from deposits under the surface. I'm just curious to know how the majority are being mined, dredging or vertical drilling?

Is not answering these type of question what exploration is all about ?AFA has completed a sampling program that aims to sees if the potential of EPL 3403 is worth continuing exploration.Once the result are publish we will have a better idea of the answer. From what Pierre has mentioned finding more then 25 stones, with concentration and descent size will go a long way in proving the potential of ...more

I guys,Just to answer some of your queries,All three method of mining presented are used to mined the same type of marine deposits, but it was proven over time that the must efficient method to mine a marine deposit is done by using a crawler to dredge the deposit. Furthermore, It is a know fact that IMDH, the seller of EPL 3403, and about to become one of the largest shareholders of AFA, is the ...more
