RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:More EV newsI must correct myself. Underground services (where the utility connects to the meter) would have copper from the meter to the panel. Overhead or mast services, have copper from the meter to the top of the mast where the utility connects. The utility uses aluminum almost exclusively because of the cost. Copper is used if there is a space problem as aluminum conductors have to be larger because of their reduced current capacity. When you get your EV, remember not to go stickin' your fingers where they don't belong as the battery voltage is 400VDC. EV's should be cheaper in the long run as electric motors are less complicated than internal combustion - it's those batteries that cost a lot. 
I had to get my muffler changed last month and the mechanic was lamenting that mufflers lasted 10 years these days so he had less business. I told him electric cars don't have mufflers...
