Understanding the Stakes HereWhiteFeather, you nailed some very key points about ANI.
"...only half of the float actually trades."
Absolutely! About that same percentage of the total outstanding stock is held be a small group of very large shareholders which includes Bishop and Ernesto.
And they are not selling.
Add to that fact that the
total shares outstanding is very small, and you have one very tightly held play. And, should we have future success with the drill bit, you tell me what's going to happen to this stock when the investment world comes rushing in to buy a share. This is one tight MF!
I also like this bit:
"...these guys are so methodical in their testing."
That's a reflection of the quality of the people that have been recruited to run this play. We have a world class technical staff. Gents, who very comfortably were enjoying their golf and retirement, were lured back because of the potential payoff here.
Words like "home run" do not do it justice.
For anyone new to ANI, you need to
understand the stakes that are being lined up here.
ANI is an attempt to essentially
find another Carlin Trend. This is not a play for a "property discovery" as is typical with what most juniors are trying to do. Where there is "potential" for a 5 or 10 bagger.
The stakes are even higher here.
When you add up all the discoveries that have made the Carlin Trend world class, you'll find that this trend has played a huge part in making
Nevada the third largest producer of gold in the world.
And there are
multiple world class mines within Carlin. Now ponder the fact that ANI controls an entire district.
The geological understanding and the mining technology behind what made Carlin is relatively new. It's only been in the last 3 decades or so, we've been able to discover -- and subsequently mine -- these types of deposits.
Lawrence Roulston wrote up an excellent summary of what made the Carlin Trend in a 2005 issue of his newsletter.
You can read an summary of his thought here.
In a video interview on
The Korelin Report, you can also see why the usually low-keyed Bob Bishop called the potential for ANI targets "massive."
He's absolute right. They are massive. As imortantly, they are multiple in number. Again, this is not a property, it's a district.
We'll these guys be successful?
Don't ask me, I couldn't tell you if it will rain tomorrow.
But I do know this. Deep pocketed investors mean access to cash. Top geological personnel means you got some of the best talent possible applying state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies.
As always, investment in junior resource companies is high risk/high reward stuff.
What I like about ANI, is that the reward, should it happen, be that much sweater than is normal for these kinda of investments.
