A Copper Play Too?
There's been no comments on the Ariel project Animus picked us last year.
I found ANI's March 25th PR quite interesting, particularly this bit:
"A very large alteration/mineralization system is present on the Ariel concessions. This system is approximately 4-5 kilometers in length and approximately 2-3 kilometers wide."
To be sure, it way too premature to draw any real conclusions, but a porphyry of such size could translate into tons of copper with a 'billion" handle.
Something anyhow to keep an eye on. I'll be watching drilling assays here with keen interest as I've grown increasingly bullish on the red metal.
Robert Freidland last month called copper the 'thinking man's metal' given its myriad applications and its indispensable role in the 2/3's of the world's population march toward a middle class existence.
Perhaps also relevant is this March 23rd story from Mineweb:
"Ever resourceful, some gold miners are changing tack in a bid to secure multi-million ounces in the ground. There is a discernable trend towards the acquisition and exploitation of copper/gold deposits. These deposits, usually described in geological terms as porphyry deposits, are often low grade but are huge in lateral dimensions and depth and contain vast amounts of copper and gold. Their large size and the presence of more than one payable metal means that they can be profitably worked despite being very low grade."
