I'd like an opinion

I know there's a few poster's on this blog that used to post on Ryland before they were sold last summer.  Now I'm just looking for an opinion and this is my question.. If Atikwa ends up with good frac results on these next few wells and if they were to be sold after these results come in do you think it would sell for more than Ryland did?

yes I think their land position is a lot more favourable, they might just sell Pierson and spin Roncott and Porcupine into a new company. I think the drilling in Manitoba is just a formality (paid for by third party) perhaps its a done deal already. The drill a few wells, then extrapolated the worth the set the final price. Most major companies need to replace their reserves.  Just my take.

Kehoe is a player/gambler with connections, I like zuperztarz post I see it all the time working in the industry bigger companies buying out smaller companys to replace their reserves. Legacy bought Molopo not too long ago (Molopo`s main area was Pierson Manitoba(Spearfish play), not too mention ATK is surrended by CNR,Penn-West and many other big players in that area.What I think is that they ...more

Yes, ATK is nothing like Ryland. Ryland mgmt had their head in the sand out in Vancouver. They sold out their investors for their friends and had no idea how to drill a well. The value was all in their land. (which they didn't have the expertise to develop!) ATK has a proven MGMT and staff, based in Calgary. Although their land is not as contiguous as GS mentioned, they at least know how to ...more
