Seems to be an affliction of our times - too many people are getting too greedy, and think that the world owes them not only a living, but a rather opulent, decadent, stinking-rich, living. You see it not only in these greedy corporate weasels, but in may of our professional sports heroes, our politicians, our lawyers, yes and no doubt in a good deal of ordinary investors too. There is nothing wrong with striving to get ahead in this world, and if your vision of getting ahead means getting wealthy, well so be it. But there are boundaries of decency, ethics, and law that should be followed by all of us. Unfortunately, the rules of the game seem to be a lot more relaxed, hazy, uncertain, unenforceable, ignorable, the higher up the feeding chain one goes. And so, some poor bloke down on his luck who robs a service station because he is down to his last dollar, likely faces more jail time than some multimillionaire corporate bigshot who scams his investors, the banks, old age pensioners, his employees out of millions of their hard earned dollars. Gee. Ain't life grand, sitting in the catbird seat?
