Again, these latest results suggest we may have the makings of another company spinoff in the future just like the CGT and AUAU split. Eastside sounds more and more like a potential district scale find itself; then separated from Eastside we have all the further drill areas that Goldcorp has partnership access to.
Some years ago, I listened to a presentation by Giustra where he made it a point of saying that the then CGT did not want to do a JV at Eastside. That 1.5 mill oz resource goal seems to be a tipping point for AUAU and sounds very attainable if as stated the pit is now already extended a further 700ms and still seems to be open to the west and south, at depth and possible to the east and north.
It will be interesting to see if another mid/major takes a share in AUAU and ‘partners’ rather than JVs on Eastside for first claim status. You have Barrick, Kinross and Sterling in the area plus others and it seems miners are more recently demonstrating the desire to form partnerships with explorers for access to ongoing information, rather than jumping into the more expensive JVs.
