Shocked? Not really. You mean disappointed. Cnq stole pony by buying management/directors off. BTO stole SBB same way. Ditto for IPL and HBC , except for a large shareholder fly in the ointment , that extracted a modestly higher bid. And that's just what I've seen in my personal portfolio in the last few years. It's just too easy, too lucrative, too common. It's just so much cheaper to float lucrative golden parachutes than to pay ALL shareholders equally, and more. It's theoretically illegal but the weasels have figured out how to thwart the rules long ago. We should be thankful they didn't drive the equity down to Pennies using the debt as a hammer. It came close to that for many producers in 2020-2021.
