RE:It's all useless :-)Not so much of a competitor as a displacer. Remember PIPE's condensate is valuable in it's own right. So if this does take off it shouldn't impact PIPE's financials too much if at all.
The other point because is this is still experimental, will it scale up to industrial volumes on an economic operational basis? I recall a discussion a few years ago on converting heavy bitumen into baseball sized blobs and transporting in rail cars with water. That was touted as the "end of condensate". I was skeptical about that method, and to date, I have not heard about that method taking over heavy bitumen transport.
Perhaps by the time this concept comes to fruition PIPE will have been taken out.
