BlackRock Municipal Income Trust (the Fund) is a diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to provide current income exempt from federal income taxes. Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 80% of its managed assets in investments the income from which is exempt from federal income tax (except that the interest may be subject to the alternative minimum tax). The Fund may invest directly in securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives. The Fund's investment policies provide that it invests at least 80% of its total assets in investment grade quality municipal obligations issued by or on behalf of states, territories and possessions of the United States and their political subdivisions, agencies or instrumentalities, each of which pays interest that, in the opinion of bond counsel to the issuer, is excludable from gross income for federal income tax purposes. Conspiracy Theory of the Day...

Conspiracy Theory of the Day... I've grown very frustrated with sifting through the dozens of completely garbage comments by both bashers and pumpers everytime I log onto this site for the one or two comments that are actually useful or meaningful.

I realized something though: if there are entire businesses in other countries with hundreds of employees devoted to making fake Facebook posts and comments on news forums to influence public opinion, it is more than conceivable that similar set-ups would exist trying to influence people's decision making when it comes to how they invest their money... I would not be the slightest bit surprised if the 90% useless commentary here comes from Stockhouse's own scourge of "Troll Farms", which would explain why we see a new account created only to post 15-20 basher posts in a day and get 120 ignores and then completely disappear by the end of the week... and people who log into a board that they don't appear to have any reason to be in other than to spread "doom and gloom"...

There are two problems with this:
1. Some idiots will actually let themselves make foolish knee-jerk reactions based on these fake posts.
2. For other people what could be a useful source of information and discussion has become virtually un-usable, and at a certain point there will be less and less "real" accounts as people get frustrated and leave the site.
Food for thought.
