Mineralization

From the published cross sections note that the Copper and Molybdenum mineralization is independent of the host rocks, meaning, it post dates the layering.  From the evidence to date all four holes are in the phyllic zone of a giant porphyry intrusion either down below or off to one side.  Why hole 5 was bornite-rich and the others weren't is an unanswered question.  There may have been a second mineralizing event related to those particular dykes or perhaps those dykes were closer to the intrusion.  We need more data.

In geology, nothing is as simple as you want it to be.

Hole 5 was likely closer to the intrusion since the IP anomaly exists to the North /West.  This is why land to the North was staked by the company as per NR:  "... has staked an additional 570 lode mining claims to the north of the Property, securing a key extension of the new 3D IP anomaly." The IP 3D/Anomaly appear to be saying the same thing:  to the North/West ...more

Meant to add that the IP and assays are signaling the same thing: to the North/West is where the grade is better. Smart move but the company to stake the land.

Retiredgeo, what is the importance of "ended in mineralization". I see this quoted a lot on the boards. The most recent NR states "08 and 21 ended in well mineralized volcanic country rock which remains open at depth". In my ignorant interpretation. This is talking about the seven devils volcanic that host the porphyry deposit but does not tell us anything other than we don ...more

Also Retiredgeo,@ two additional deep holes, on top of hole 5, encountered dykes, from Oct 10 NR: "The same phase of post-mineral dyke has now been intersected in two other deep drill holes, where it only shows several meters of drilled length." In non of the follow-up NRs do they identify which holes, but at least one of these already came back assayed in the Jan 3 NR.  it could ...more

I believe that hey are referring to a seperate set of dykes.  These porphyry intrusions aren't emplaced in one shot.  They happen in bits and pieces over 1 or more million years.  There are numerous stockwork veining events, numerous sets of dykes and numerous pulses of mineralization.  Then everything is metamorphosed and structurally deformed. It is best to let the ...more

Similar to my other question, do we know the Triassic seven devils in this area is involved in the later thrust events in this area? SE of the recent results on the map they label the red thrust as a "major" thrust. However the fault plane/plane of weakness seems to be the erosional surface/unconformity at or above the congomerate in the footwall of that thrust. at least ...more

To add to my last post, so perhaps the theory that some dykes were closer to the intrusion is the correct one.  When combined with the IP anomaly in the North (and west) of hole 5 and the extra land being secured there (from last NR), it may be that the intrusion is closer to hole 5.

But then again,  these are post-mineralized dykes.  Do they really have that much of an effect?
Comment by Retiredgeo on Jan 10, 2024 7:13am
Unlikely, unless they are huge and recooked everything (a sill).
