Before annoucement of closing there are a lot of steps
- approval from regulators/ exchanges
- waiting for all subscriber to send in the money/ cheque & clear
- processing of paperwork by legal.
I've been involved with "done deals" where official closing was not announced until 30-45 days after cheque was cleared from my account...seriously, we are all pissed (I am for sure), but you cant be complaining about things you don't full understand...
