BNP - Letter to Shareholders - September 2018

The following is a summary of business development activities and research for this month:

  1. Marthas Vineyard Project – 3rd part contacts have been made. Anticipate opportunities for a deal over the next 6-18 months.
  2. Toby Schultz retired from the legal profession, and as our legal counsel, a few years ago. We would like to thank Toby for his service.
  3. New board member – We have made an interim appointment to the board of directors. Brian Doody has joined the board of directors, as of Sep 17th 2018, and will also serve as our legal counsel. Brian is a member of the law society of Ontario. He also has specific experience with one of the 3rd parties that we anticipate dealing with over the next 18 months. Brian resides in London, Ontario. We welcome Brian to the BNP Board.
  4. Annual reports filed for 2017-2018. Total cost is $180.00. This is a requirement in order to keep the corporation registered in the Province of Alberta.
  5. We’ve had discussions regarding the acquisition of a 200 room hotel, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, priced at $20 million CDN. The hotel includes a restaurant and bar, and is well situated, near the Grande Prairie Airport. With the new Shell LNG project going ahead, Grande Prairie will continue leading the province, with industry activity. We work with some of our contacts from 2016 – 2017, to determine how we can fund the $20 million CDN. This brings back our previous Calgary financing team. This would be of sufficient scale to fund the company, and to get the shares trading once again. I’ll let everyone know next month if we can or cannot get the money. If successful, our Canadian head office will move to Grande Prairie, creating many jobs in the process.
  6. Had a chance to talk with “Jungle Jim”, the founder of the Jungle Jim Restaurant chain of Newfoundland / Nova Scotia. He had started the chain in 1991, and sold out in 1996, after moving to the west coast of Canada. Very interesting restaurant franchise experience. This chain is a similar size as Humptys Restaurants International.
  7.  NAFTA has been replaced by USMCA. It was positive that a deal was agreed to, by the deadline. This will ensure that Canadian engineers can continue working in the USA.
  8. As of Oct 1st, the minimum wage is now $15.00 per hour in Alberta.
