It sound like you don't suscribe to the grey market data exchanges.
Do not feel bad.Many of the new rookie traders dont even know about
it.The data your discount or(Bank) brokerage gives you is NEVER
the real bid.The new market makers trade and bid through at least nine
other exhanges that you are not seeing.They are computerized as well-
meaning-if you try to outbid-they track you match squeeze-and outbid(rare and illegal-but I see it about 3-5 % of the time now.About 2 -3 yrs ago this was never the case-you could use your brokers quote.Those days are long over my friend.You now have to compete with LARGE sophisticated computurized US clearing houses and market makers and watch up to 10 or more exchanges at once.GLTYO!
