Is it possible to be anti-minig?The company's news release describes the petitioners as anti-mining. This may be a politically convenient term conjured up by the newly hired PR folks at Blue Sky. However, from what I have read about this deposit, the proposed extraction technologies, and its geography, I think anti mining may be an accurate label in this particular case. This poses a curious question. How did the anti-miners file their petition? They couldn't have called their lawyer on a phone. It cannot exist without mining. They didn't fly to the law offices aboard a modern jet or drive there in an automobile. They didn't use older technology like a typewriter, pen, or pencil. Even carving the complaint into a tablet of stone would require some "mining" of stones. They must have walked to their lawyers' offices in their furs and recited their opposition to the project. I believe people can be against a specific mining project for very good reasons. However, people cannot be anti-mining without being hypocrites and exposing themselves to manipulation by others.
