"This could all help explain why some longer term insiders have never bought a single share in the market and why Mark Day hasn't either. "

Insiders almost never buy shares on the open market as they get the updside on the company through their stock options and already have significant risk expsosure to the company by the fact that their employment is tied to the success of the company and the value of their options are dependent on the success of the company.

I've only purchased shares in the open market for the company I work for once and I doubt I will in the future as you need diversification in your portfolio.

I would be very surprised if any insiders actally buy shares in the open market as it doesn't make much sense to do so.
