RAM cells have been in the market now for a long time.
All of a sudden Home Depot has discovered RAM cells.
I believe Walmart has seen a dramatic increase in the sales of Pure Energy over the last year ( remarkable for a mature product) in the absence of promotions.
I truly believe that the other major retailers will not be far behind. These things do not occur in a vacuum.
If Rayovac and Pure energy are growing you can be sure Duracell is feeling it just a bit and are planning their own moves.
Anybodys guess what they may do.
I think we are in the midst of a major change, and only time will tell
