The rest of the Rick Rule

"For me personally, the natural resource theme is of more importance than the technology theme," said Rule. "The very simplicity of natural resources is an attraction. If you find a commodity that's necessary for the future of humankind—where the price is too low to sustain current production—either the price goes up or that commodity becomes unavailable."

Rule warned that resource investing takes patience.

"Robert Friedland says from conception to production it takes 30 years to make a mine. If your orientation is three months, you are never going to win. It takes persistence and tenacity."

Rule said you also need to swing for the fences.

That describes BTR to a T in my opinion. fruitvale3067 left this out. dare I ask why?

Captn, Metanor/Bonterra has already been thru the conception and production secnerio you speak of.  It failed. In fact if failed so badly the company went from a production company to a exploration company. As for your wait a year or two. This company will not be mining in 1-2 years.

Yes fruitvale3067, Metanor/Bonterra failed in a past life. I had to do some digging before I responded, the history was quite the read. For argument's sake let's run with history for a moment. What was the price of gold 10 years ago fruitvale3067? What was the resource estimate broken down into inferred and indicated? Finally, what was management's experience running a narrow-veined ...more

Cappy You said to fruity you had to do some digging before you respond!  Seems to me you do some digging before you invest not before you respond on some bullboard and fruity is no better saying his pick never had a consolidation when in fact they did a 10 for 1.  I am not sure how or why you guys spend your money when you both seem to invest first research later.  I might be wrong ...more

gimme you are mistaken. I did my due diligence on the here and now, the future, and because fruitvale3067 brought up Metanor I had to dig. That scenario was further back than I had delved into. But BTR in the here and now, along with its bright future is why I laid some investment dollars down. You may have noticed BTR just cleaned the floor and raised 1.6 Million dollars. Another shipment is ...more

Cappy as usual You are not doing your dd or you just do not understand markets.  You ask for instance what the price of gold was 10 years ago.  Well the average price of gold in 2012 was about $1650 an ounce.  Now if you run the inflation numbers to the end of 2022 for our full 10 year period you come up a price of $2192.50 so the POG was relatively close.  In fact, slightly ...more

Cappy a little hint while you were on the proper track you stopped short of city you were travelling to!  The important number is the spread between the price of gold and All In Cost.  And no I do not mean AISC as there are many costs left out of the equation!  So while the gold price may seem real high today to some it really is not when you considered.  The average AISC last ...more

You people are relentless. Why do you feel it necessary to take on the role being my financial planner? There is no doubt in my mind you have an agenda. We all do. Mine is to make money holding BTR for the next year or two. gimme. Your cost scenarios are outdated, the prices of gold you quoted are somewhat correct. For 6 months in 2012, the price sat well below the average you quote. There are ...more

"If you call my bullishness pumping it is fair play to call your constant negativity in a stock you do not own bashing." A better description of me is someone correcting the lies/mistakes of others. I'm trying to help newbies that might interpret what you post as fact. And the relentless nonsense of buying the offer is so ridiculous. If there was a battle for stock as it moved up ...more

Tsoprano, yes the have swept the floors (Mill). The only thing left is all the drill cores in the core stoage facility.

Captn,  It doesn't matter what the POG was when Metanor was mining. Management then felt they understood the underground dynamics that they could mine it for a profit. In fact they closed down/walked away from mining the Open Pit at Barry to chase the high grade veins at Bachelor Lake. In the end it was the narrow veins and little to no Halo effect that did them in. To much dilution and ...more

Fair enough fruitvale3067. You are entitled to your opinion as am I. Time to pack up that tired old frame, move on and enjoy your investing prowess. I'm here because I put money into BTR and as funds become available I will add more to my position. Whether the stock is higher or lower does not matter to me when the market cap is below the cost of the mill. This is discounting the whole ...more
